These terms apply to your use of the Japan 100 mobile app. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What Japan 100 is
Japan 100 is a playful checklist of 100 real-world activities in Japan. It suggests things to do; whether, when, and how you do them is entirely up to you.
Your safety and conduct are your responsibility
Quests take place in the real world. You are solely responsible for your own safety and behavior while attempting them. Always follow local laws, posted rules, and venue policies; respect other people, their privacy, and local etiquette; and skip or adapt any quest that would be unsafe or inappropriate for you (for example due to health, weather, or crowding). Japan 100 is not liable for anything that happens while you attempt a quest.
Purchases
- The app is free to download and includes 30 quests at no cost. A one-time in-app purchase unlocks all 100 quests on the device's App Store account.
- Payment is processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store's terms — we cannot issue refunds ourselves.
- Use "Restore purchases" in the app's settings to re-activate your unlock after reinstalling or switching devices on the same App Store account.
Your content
Photos you attach to quests remain yours and remain on your device (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for the photos you take, including respecting the privacy of people and the rules of places you photograph.
Our content
The app's quest texts, illustrations, design, and branding belong to Japan 100 and may not be copied, resold, or redistributed outside of normal personal use (such as sharing your board image).
Availability and changes
We may update, change, or discontinue features of the app over time. Quest content may be edited between versions. The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Japan 100 shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or your participation in any quest.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms; the date above reflects the latest version. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.
