Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 17, 2026

Japan 100 ("the app") is built to work without collecting your personal data. This page explains exactly what stays on your device, what leaves it, and why.

Your photos never leave your device. Photos you attach to quests are stored only in the app's local storage on your phone. The app has no accounts and no photo servers, and it never uploads, syncs, or transmits your photos anywhere. Photos appear outside the app only when you yourself export or share an image.

What the app stores on your device

All of this lives in local storage on your device. Deleting the app deletes it. We cannot see it, restore it, or hand it to anyone — we never receive it in the first place.

What we do not do

Purchases

Japan 100 offers a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks all 100 quests. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through your App Store account; we never see your payment details.

To check whether your purchase is active (including after you reinstall the app or restore purchases), the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat processes your App Store transaction data together with a random, anonymous identifier generated for your device. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal information — we don't have any.

Camera and photo library access

The app asks for camera or photo library permission only when you choose to attach a photo to a quest. The permission is used at that moment, on your device, and for nothing else. You can use the app without granting either permission, and you can revoke them at any time in your device settings.

Children

Japan 100 does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. There is nothing to collect.

Changes to this policy

If the app's behavior ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and change the date at the top before the change ships.
